We Baa Baa Baa-lieve in The Black Sheep!

We Baa Baa Baa-lieve in The Black Sheep!Getting tired of the same old scene? Looking for a new place to hang out, whether by yourself or a group of friends? Well then you are in luck, because the District of Rock Island has added a new Arcade/Sports Bar that can fulfill your recreational desires.

The Black Sheep is located at 1730 2nd Avenue Rock Island, right outside of the Plaza in The District of Rock Island. The owner, Shawn Cirlos, is an entrepreneur that has expanded his vision across the Mississippi River. Shawn also owns Spartans Pub, located on Hickory Grove Rd in Davenport. When he came across an opportunity to open another location in The District, he just couldn’t pass it up. And for good reason, the location couldn’t get much better.

Right outside of the Plaza in The District of Rock Island, The Black Sheep is conveniently located for success. It is within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, comedy clubs, shopping and more. Being on the outskirts of the Plaza makes parking much more convenient. However, when the patio doors are opened it is impossible for the magical atmosphere of The District not to flow right on in.

The festivals and holidays celebrated in The District fashion will also take place at The Black Sheep. They have already participated in the Mardi Gras Bar Crawl, St. Patricks Day and Valentine’s Day festivities since their grand opening on Feb. 10. But it doesn’t have to be a holiday to fully enjoy what The Black Sheep has to offer.

The overall décor is absolutely breathtaking. When you first walk through the front doors of The Black Sheep you will have a hard time deciding what to focus on, and in a very good way. The high industrial ceilings’ modern finishes, the sleek and elegant look of the liquor bar, the whiskey barrels from Mississippi River Distilling Company, the state of the art television sets generously spread throughout, and the arcade games and more will have you feeling welcomed and ready for a good time. And this is all before you get to check out the facilities, which will definitely make an impression!

Whether you have an urge for a pool game, Big Buck Hunter, Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Street Fighter or the newest addition Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, your gaming needs will not go unfulfilled. When discussing the arcade games, owner Shawn Cirlos stated “We plan to add more arcade games. And eventually want to add some free games as well”. The Ultracade Multi-Game Machine contains a very large number of good old school arcade games, and will most definitely be a favorite place of many local arcade enthusiasts.

One of the many things that separate this Sports and Arcade bar from other bars in The District is that they open their doors at 2 p.m. This means they are ready and waiting for you when you get off work or want to start your evening before the other venues open in the area. During the day, they also serve three different blends of coffee at $2 a cup. If you are looking for a bite to eat, Gunchies in Rock Island delivers. So grab a menu right there at the bar and order up your favorite pizza or wings! Another factor that sets The Black Sheep apart from their neighboring facilities is their support for local distilleries and breweries. You can find beverages from Goose Island, Bent River, Great River Brewery and more. On Sundays, you can come down for Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas and FREE DONUTS!

The future of The Black Sheep looks to be baaaaaa-utiful!
