Aroma Offers Delightful Scents And Tastes

Aroma Offers Delightful Scents And TastesToday the Java Journey takes us to Iowa.

Nestled inside the Green Thumbers flower shop on Brady Street, is a lovely place where you can have a coffee and enjoy the sight and smell of true natural beauty.

The coffee shop has been a part of the beautiful floral Nursery for  slightly over a year. But in that one year Aroma Coffee has gained quite a following.

Not just those with green thumbs( that right there leaves me out) stop in.  But people driving up Brady Street and( we know how busy Brady Street gets.) Many business people and they have quite a group of Palmer students come in for a coffee a cinnamon roll or a very tasty fresh made chicken salad sandwich on break or after class.

Kate the manager of Aroma Coffee tells me, she was originally trained on expresso machines in Madison Wisconsin. Boy am I glad she didn’t say Green Bay.

They have two homemade syrups they use for their coffee. One is called the Brady the other is Cartanon. Very popular .

The owner of Aroma Coffee, Andy  would tell you Aroma Coffee is a definite” Staple in Davenport.”

This isn’t just for plant Shoppers, gardeners, we have a cozy room indoors with sofas comfy chairs large windows are peaceful and Serene.

Students can come have coffee bring their laptop and study. Ladies have had get-togethers card games. Aroma Coffee also has — and this I could have stayed all day for alone! — an outdoor patio several tables and chairs tabletop umbrellas.

When you sit outside on the lovely patio surrounded by all sorts of nature you feel as if ……well you’re in a tropical rainforest (without the rain for a change).

Plants trees flowers up down all around you as you sip that delicious coffee. The Breeze Blows By the smell of lilacs roses petunias marigolds you name it wafting through the air. How peaceful and therapeutic would you consider that?  I think it’s amazing.

I asked Kate do you feel being built into another business gives you more security for your shop then say if you were alone structure on Brady Street? Basically asking the pros and cons. It is helpful in that many people that are here for plants can smell the aroma thus the name walk through one gal said wow there’s a coffee shop here I could sure go for a nice iced coffee.

“On the other hand we’re not a kiosk “she continues “many people are unaware we are even here.”

She tells me there are no plans in the near future to expand build another store anywhere.” maybe just expand where we are right now “says Kate.

Aroma Coffee Shop hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 9 to 5 a little sleep in on Sunday nothing wrong with that.

A few of them or possibly most popular items the chicken salad sandwich made fresh every morning there’s a yummy apple walnut salad very healthy very crunchy.

The honey is made locally which is good to hear and they sell their own oil and vinegar salad dressing.

I asked her what she would do if she wasn’t at Aroma Coffee.

Final words from Kate were “stop and check it out you will love it!”

It’s something no one else in the Quad City has. I have to agree with her there!
