Blue Flame Burns Bright For Storage Needs
Keeping your items safe and secure is what fires up the owners of Blue Flame, a secure storage facility at 18602 County Road in Fruitland, Iowa.
How do they achieve that?
“We have a very secure storage facility and buildings,” said Rocky Phillips Jr., manager of Blue Flame. “We have one building with temperature controlled units, indoor and outdoor parking, an access controlled gate and cameras all over to keep tabs on everything.”
What led them to start up the business?
“We noticed there were a lot of storage units in Muscatine and noticed a lot of them were full,” Phillips said. “We had an empty lot and thought we would give it a shot. We noticed there was nothing in or around Fruitland, so we decided to open here.”
Given that sometimes when storage units turn up on TV shows and in the news, it’s under sketchy circumstances, Blue Flame prides itself on its security.
“Not just anyone can get in here, we have cameras on every door,” Phillips said. “We always try to figure out at best what people are doing. We don’t want anything illegal going on.”
In addition to staying out of the news on the bad side of things, there are other keys to having a successful storage business.
“Keeping everything clean, being secure, being quick to respond to people, those are all important,” he said. “We have an office open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. that people can stop in and have all their questions answered or we can address any concerns.”
“We hope people come to us and keep us in mind for their storage needs,” Phillips said.
