Tradition of Firecracker Run Continues

It’s not a 4th of July celebration without kick-starting the day at the Genesis Firecracker Run!

The 36th Annual Genesis Firecracker Run is happening Wednesday Jul 4 in downtown East Moline. The day consists of a Pancake Breakfast, 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk, 1- Mile, Kiddie Run, Hospital Bed Races and even a Post-Race Party!Tradition of Firecracker Run Continues

Sponsored by the East Moline Fire Fighters Association, the Pancake Breakfast will be held from 6:30 – 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post 227 (829 16th Avenue East Moline). Adults are $5 and children 12 and under are $3.

The 5K and 10K races will begin at 7:30 a.m. downtown East Moline, at 8th Street and 15th Avenue. The Kiddie Run begins at 8:45 a.m. (for kids 8 and under) and the TBK Mile will commence at 9:15 a.m. Awards ceremony will follow at 9:30 a.m. and will be handed out in the order of 5K, 1-Mile and 10K.

After the awards ceremony, at 10 a.m., you cannot miss the Aquent Hospital Bed Races!
