Take A Polar Plunge Into Wick’s Lake!

Take A Polar Plunge Into Wick’s Lake!

With warmer weather just around the corner, have you been craving a nice brisk dip in frigid waters?  Good! Because it is time for the annual Wick’s Lake Polar Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics.

The Polar Plunge, presented by the Law Enforcement Torch Run and GEICO takes places this Sunday Mar 25 at Wick’s Lake (located at Jumer’s Casino and Hotel at 777 Jumer Drive Rock Island).

Plungers will receive incentive prizes based on the amount of money they raise. By raising the minimum of $100, you’ll receive an official Plunge hooded sweatshirt. Sweatshirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis the day of the plunge. All individuals who do not receive a sweatshirt the day of the event will have one mailed to them in April. Other prizes are awarded at the $250, $500 and $1,000 levels and will be mailed to participants in April.

Registration for this year’s event can be completed online at https://soill.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.event&eventID=625.

Plungers are encouraged to continue raising funds, even after this event. For more information regarding post-plunge donations, please visit https://www.soill.org/polar-plunge/.

All proceeds for this fundraising event will go to benefit the more than 22,000 traditional athletes and 20,000 young athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.

Take this opportunity to warm your heart for a good cause and then cool it off with a celebratory Polar Plunge!
