Stride On Up For Historical Walking Tours
The German American Heritage Center has kicked off their Summer Walking Tours! And you’re invited!
These historical walking tours will educate participants in the history and roots of Davenport with a knowledgeable tour guide, while providing great exercise! The tours will begin at the German American Heritage Center, located at 712 W 2nd Street Davenport, every Saturday through the summer and will go from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Tours are only $5 per person. Group tours are also available, but reservations are encouraged. You can call the German American Heritage Center at (563) 322-8844 to find out more about group tours.
The 2017 season also brings a brand-new tour route! Participants should be comfortable walking and standing for the duration of the tour. There are some up and down stairs and hills on this tour. Make sure to bring some comfy walking shoes and feel free to bring water!
After your walking tour, check out the current exhibits; The German Immigrant Experience, 1917:Production and Houdini: The Magic and Mystery. Their hours on Sundays are 12-4 p.m. and general admission for adults is $5, seniors are $4, children $3 (5-17 years old) and children 5 and under are free.
