Rock the Arts!

Hey Quad Cities, looking for some FREE family fun this weekend? Then head to the District of Rock Island for Rock the Arts!

Rock the Arts (formerly known as Gallery Hop!) is a brand-new two-day event in downtown Rock Island filled with art shows, an art market, live demos and more! The best part? It’s a FREE and family-friendly event!

Friday Jun 15 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday Jun 16 from 12-4 p.m. check out these three different locations downtown Rock Island:

The ARTery and Midcoast Fine Arts Gallery West (1629 2nd Avenue Rock Island)

Enjoy their Life is ART exhibit and help support NAMI, while browsing the art market.

Quad City Arts (1715 2nd Avenue Rock Island)

The gallery will have food, drinks, art vendors, and the colorful show by Greg Dickinson and David Balluff will be on display.

Desoto Studios (2324 3rd Avenue Rock Island)

Two days of live music, art demos by professional local artists, art vendors and studio tours will guarantee fun for the whole family! There will also be an art table for the kids, or for the kids at heart! Live music includes Sons of Mars (golden age of hip hop influence with a new era bounce), The Camel Tones (90s and modern rock), Ahzia (intricate alternative hip hop), Doug Cochran (outlaw/red dirt Americana), Dr. Heat (smooth jams) and Karl Beatty Acoustic (modern rock).

Don’t miss the live demos by Joel Knanishu and the Quad Cities Woodturners Club!
