Founded in 1975, Davenport Radio Control Society is an organization of people who are interested in building and flying radio controlled planes, boats and cars. Majority of the creations are planes and helicopters. The club has existed for more than 30 years and many of the charter members are still active in the club. In the span of those 30 years, they have grown to over 100 members who come from the entire Quad Cities area.

They meet on the second Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Deere William Carriage House in Moline. For the months of May through September they meet at the Norman Fry Memorial Field when the weather permits. All of their meetings are open to the public and you are welcome to attend any of them if you are interested in learning more about the fascinating sport of remote control planes. The club is chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), whose function is to coordinate the activities of many clubs across the United States in an effort to assist each club in forming a better and safer program.
