Partake in Some Pork Belly Elegance

How would you like to help crown this year’s Chef Par Excellence at the Quad Cities Taste of Elegance? The best part? You get to enjoy some deliciously prepared pork!

Quad Cities Taste of Elegance is happening this Monday Jul 16 in the ballroom at the Isle Casino Hotel (1777 Isle Pkwy Bettendorf) from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.Partake in Some Pork Belly Elegance

You will get to taste the area’s most innovative pork entrees, meet the competing chefs, and sample their winning dishes using this year’s competition cut, Pork Belly!

Tickets are only $15 and can be purchased by calling (563) 441-4246, (563) 349-6205 or at the door. Proceeds will go to benefit the culinary program at Scott Community College.

Pork entrees will be judged on taste, appearance and originality. The grand prize winner will receive $1,000 and will be eligible to attend the Pork Summit in the spring at Greystone in St. Helena, California. Second place will receive $700 and third place will receive $300. There also will be a People’s Choice Award of $250 chosen by attendees.

Competitors this year will include Mike Gabrielson (Isle of Capri- Bettendorf), Martha Cleveland Smith (Blue Cat Brew Pub – Rock Island),  Aaron McMahon (Davenport Country Club- Pleasant Valley), Mike Smith and Keagan Tumey (Cobham Life Support Systems- Davenport), Paul McDermott (Wildwood Smokehouse- Iowa City), Billy Paul (Joe’s Place- Coal Valley), Chris Carton (RiverCenter- Davenport) and Doug Lear (Bass Street Chop House- Moline).

Last year, Chef Monkut Sayasit of Bata’s n Cedar Rapids was named Chef Par Excellence. Chef Doug Lear of Bass Street Chop House in Moline was named Superior Chef. The Premier Chef and People’s Choice Award winner was Chris Carton of the Davenport River Center.
