Make Your Guitar Gently Weep, Or Smile

Make Your Guitar Gently Weep, Or SmileWhen referring to a band of fresh young men back in the 1960’s, a large recording company once said they “didn’t like the sound, and groups of guitars were on the way out”. That band, The Beatles, sure proved them wrong.

A one of a kind event is coming to the Quad Cities, and you won’t want to miss it. Bret Dale, a musician from River Music Experience will be hosting a FREE guitar circle playing only Beatles songs!

This guitar circle will be taking place on Saturday April 1 from 1:30-3pm in the Grand Lobby of the Putnam Museum (1717 W 12th Street Davenport).

If you are interested in participating in the guitar circle, pre-registration is required. To pre-register, contact Alison Niebuhr at (563) 336-7290 or aniebuhr@putnam.org . Guests should bring their own guitar. Sheet music will be projected onto the wall of the Grand Lobby.

The Guitar Circle is ‘community friendly.’  Pre-registration is required for the guitar players only, due to space constraints.  Spectators are welcome to come watch and sing along.  The Putnam will have tables in their Grand Lobby and on their balcony set up for public viewing.

Donations will be collected on this day for the RME instrument-refurbishing project, Let’s Band Together, which benefits area school band students. You can also donate on-line by visiting: http://rivermusicexperience.org/Support-Us/Donate.

Whether you are a guitarist wanting to make your guitar gently weep, or a Beatles fan looking for a good time, do not miss this opportunity!
