Go Barefoot Sporting On The Mississippi

Go Barefoot Sporting On The MississippiOne of the most majestic attributes of the Quad Cities just so happens to run right through it. That’s right, the Mighty Mississippi River. Have you ever wanted to try out water skiing, kayaking or paddleboarding down the Mississippi without having to purchasing all the gear first? Well you are in luck!

Barefoot Plus Watersports, located in Moline, has been training in recreational waterskiing, wakeboarding, Slalom skiing and the ultimate in watersports, Barefoot Waterskiing, since 1998. This year they have added kayak tours and paddleboard rentals!

The Great Mighty Mississippi River Adventure kicks off the season this Saturday May 27. This will be a twenty-mile kayaking trip down the Mighty Mississippi River. The kayaks are rented through Barefoot Plus Watersports, so all you need to bring is your swimsuit and sense of adventure!

The trip will depart at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Reservations must be made in advance. The Great Mighty Mississippi River Adventure this weekend will be departing from Sunset Marina in Rock Island. The route then weaves in-between lush and shaded greenery that could not be experienced on a boat or on land. The fantastically fulfilling journey will conclude at the Loud Thunder Forest Preserve. If interested, there is a group camping out at Loud Thunder where they will continue their kayaking on Lake George.

Carlos Barreto, the owner/operator of Barefoot Plus Watersports is very passionate about the positive impact water sports can have on your life. He states, “We’ve always been health conscious for the young and old. Just 15 minutes of Waterskiing is like an hour workout at the gym. Since trends change we keep up with the latest watersports. As the baby boomers age, we are gearing up to cater to them as well. At this time, we are also planning on yoga classes on the paddleboards.”

Whether you are interested in the numerous lessons Barefoot Plus Watersports has to offer, or you would like to enjoy a nice and relaxing trip down the Mississippi, make your reservations prior to the end of this season on Sept 30.

Do not miss this opportunity to adventure into the wilderness where few have gone before!
