Get Your Zumba On With The Kids

Get Your Zumba On With The KidsLooking for a fun and healthy activity to do with the kids, this weekend? Then grab your dancing sneakers and head over the Quad Cities Food Hub!

On Saturday, March 25 the QC Food Hub, located at 421 W River Dr Davenport, is hosting a Zumba with Kids day from 1-2pm. The cost is $7 per person.

Leslie Harris will be teaching this Zumba class, and giving both parents and kids ages 3 and up an opportunity to have some healthy active fun! Check out the Facebook event page at: https://www.facebook.com/events/399401130425473/.

If you are not familiar with Zumba, it is a Latin-inspired cardio-dance workout that uses music and choreographed steps to form a fitness party atmosphere. While many of the types of dance and music featured in the program are Latin American inspired, classes can also contain everything from jazz to African beats to country to hip-hop and pop. And most importantly, it is so much fun that you won’t even realize you are exercising!

The QC Food Hub was founded in 2010 with a mission, “To support local food production, connecting producers and consumers; cultivate education and training programs; preserve and expand sustainable agriculture; foster local economic development; and promote healthy lifestyles through use of local foods, including underserved individuals and communities.”  You can visit their website at: http://www.qcfoodhub.com/.

This event is one of many put on by the QC Food Hub that you don’t want to miss. Madelyn, the education coordinator confirms, “Food Hub will strive to teach fun, educational classes that focus on sustainability and wellness.” So join in on this opportunity to increase healthy lifestyle habits for the entire family!
