Day Of The Dead Rising Again
Are you ready to celebrate Día de Los Muerto? There’s no better place to celebrate the Day of the Dead than the Quad Cities’ very own open-air market, Mercado on Fifth!
This Friday Oct 27 from 5-9 p.m. Mercado on Fifth will be hosting their last Friday night open-air market with a Day of the Dead celebration!
Performances by the Crooked Cactus Band and Danza de Santa Maria will put everyone in a festive mood. Vendors will be onsite for all of your purchasing needs, as well.
Starting at 6 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Teen Center, the movie Book of Life will be playing for all to enjoy. Bring lawn chairs and blankets!
Make sure to wear costumes! A parade will take place along 5th Avenue at 8 p.m. Low Rider cars will be set up for Trunk or Treat.
Space will be set up for family altars. A slideshow will be playing, showing photos of loved ones in the community who have passed. There is still time to include your own loved ones by e-mailing photos of them to the Figge Museum.
Do not miss this last night in the 3rd season for Mercado on Fifth. Bring out the entire family to remember loved ones that have passed and to celebrate life!
