Celebrate Independence with Red, White and Boom!

The 4th of July is right around the corner. This means cook-outs, parades, concerts and FIREWORKS!

The Quad Cities’ largest 4th of July celebration, Red White and Boom, is happening this Tuesday Jul 3 from 5-10 p.m. This bi-state event will have activities and entertainment on both sides of the river!Celebrate Independence with Red, White and Boom!

Whether you choose to celebrate in Iowa or Illinois, there will be no shortage of fun and enjoyment.

Modern Woodmen Park (209 S Gaines St. Davenport) will be bursting with family-friendly activities, beginning at 5 p.m. Enjoy bounce houses (1st Baseline Party Plaza), kids activities, live music, an Oath of Enlistment ceremony and a ton of entertainment. Stick around after the fireworks for some great music and some fun while let the traffic die down!

The Schwiebert Riverfront Park (101 17th St. Rock Island) will have their boat docks open (23 slips available, first-come first-serve) for the festivities. Beginning at 5 p.m. the park opens with inflatables ($5 wrist band), children’s activities and food vendors. Bent River Brewing Company’s Beer Garden will be open on the Great Lawn, as well. Enjoy entertainment provided by Country Couch Potatoes, the Metropolitan Youth Program Drill Team of Rock Island and Smooth Groove.

Both locations will provide prime viewing areas for the fireworks shot from two barges in the middle of the Mississippi River at 9:30 p.m. Don’t forget to tune into 97X (96.9 FM) to hear the official Red, White & Boom soundtrack to the fireworks!

Unfortunately, due to rising river levels activities at LeClaire Park will not be possible this year. But there are plenty of other areas to enjoy this amazing show!

The Skybridge will glow in patriotic colors and provide one of the best views on the entire riverfront from high above! The Skybridge is also air conditioned, so if it turns out to be a hot day, you know where to go.
