Celebrate! Celebrates Anniversary In Shoppes On Second

celebrateCelebrate!, a special events and attire consignment shop has now been open in the Shoppes on 2nd, Rock Island’s first retail incubator, for a year. The move to Rock Island meant doubling in size, and have since expanded within The Shoppes on 2nd, doubling the size of Celebrate! once more.

“We didn’t think of it as anything more than a tiny boutique and a hobby. However, the Quad Cities really responded well and made it clear a store like ours is needed,” says Celebrate! owner, Sheleigh Martin.

Since opening in November of 2015 Celebrate! now has the space for over $100,000 in inventory, including new and gently used gowns for all occasions. During dance season Celebrate! had as many as 60 people in the store within just a few hours, with lines running out of the door. Customers come from as far as two hours away to visit the shop.

“It’s the stories that keep me doing it. It’s the girls that couldn’t have gone to their senior prom because they couldn’t afford a dress otherwise. Many of these stories have brought tears to my eyes. My highlight of this year was being able to loan out dresses so that a mother-of-the-bride who was in hospice could see her daughter get married,” says Martin.

Celebrate! offers a wide variety of bridal gowns, prom dresses, special event wear, shoes, centerpieces, jewelry, and décor. The shop has rotating hours and is open 3-4 days a week. Information can be found at www.qccelebrate.com , on Facebook, or at (309) 798-8534. Private appointments are also available to shop with friends and family.
