Butchers, Bankers and Brewers Brewing At GAHC
The German American Heritage Center and Museum is adding new exhibits throughout the month of January, and you won’t want to miss them!
The newest exhibit, “Butchers, Bankers, and Brewers: German Business in Davenport” will open to the public on Sunday Jan 14. The exhibit will run through May 6 with regular admission! From prominent businessmen to local bar keepers, you will be able to explore how German Immigrants impacted the economic landscape and helped put Davenport in the commercial spotlight. Learn the trades and talents that German immigrants provided and how many of their innovations impacted American culture.
“Culinary Customs: A Taste of Germany” will be open from Jan 21 through Jun 11. Come learn about Deutschland’s delectables in the German American Heritage Center’s brand-new food exhibit! From Sauerkraut to Sausage and a taste of everything in between, explore Germany’s delicious culinary traditions.
The GAHC is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 12-4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $3 for children ages 5-17 and free for children under 5. The museum is located at 712 W 2nd Ave Davenport.
