Beck And Woods To Adapt Stephen King’s ‘Boogeyman’
When they were kids, Bettendorf natives Scott Beck and Bryan Woods were avid fans of the king of horror, Stephen King, devouring his imaginative horror tomes and bringing them to life in their imaginations.
Now, the former Quad-Citians and writers of the top-grossing “A Quiet Place” will have the chance to bring them to life on the big screen.
Beck and Woods have been signed to adapt the famous King tale “The Boogeyman” for the big screen.
In an email from the duo, they wrote, “Ever since we were children, our nightmares have been fueled by the “King” of Horror. Whether we were consuming THE SHINING, IT, MISERY, or countless other works by this master, our imagination has been captivated by his command of the genre. Thus, we are excited to announce we will be adapting Stephen King’s story ‘The Boogeyman’ for Fox!
“We are grateful to be surrounded by our incredible producers at 21 Laps (Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Dan Cohen), the masterminds behind STRANGERS THINGS and ARRIVAL. We will also be executive producing alongside Madhouse Entertainment. We’d like to personally thank our team of Ryan Cunningham, Daniel Cohan, Harley Copen, and Larry Marks for making this dream a reality.
“In other news, A QUIET PLACE is now available to download on Amazon, iTunes, Google, and every other digital platform! The Blu-ray/4K/DVD will be available on July 10th in stores everywhere! We’d like to thank you all for the amazing support with this film; last month, A QUIET PLACE crossed $300 million at the worldwide box office.
