Bad Boy’z Pizza and Pub on Utica Ridge Forced to Shut Doors

Bad Boy’z Pizza and Pub, located at 5266 Utica Ridge Road Davenport just announced today that they will be shutting the doors for the last time on Sunday Aug 30. Bad Boy'z Pizza and Pub on Utica Ridge Forced to Shut Doors

This Quad Cities hot spot for food, drinks and camaraderie has provided many memories for those on both sides of the river. From the Bettendorf High School sports after-crowds to the dependable Tuesday Night Crew, many community members are feeling the loss.

According to the statement released today (found below), owner Scott Hancock and his daughters, Erica McKenzie and Amber Hancock, are actively looking for a new spot to lay their roots. It is their hope that this closure will be temporary and short-lived. In the meantime, the Bad Boy’z location at 313 16th Street Moline will remain open and ready to welcome patrons with open arms.

Bad Boy’z shared on their Facebook page this morning, “Here is an official press release regarding our situation at the Utica Ridge location. We want to make it very clear – we in no way want this. We’ve been forced in this direction by our current landlord. Though everything that the building owner is doing is legal and fully within his rights, this is something we as an organization would never do to a tenant that has always paid the bills, established the spot, and helped develop new business for the city and people of Bettendorf, Davenport, and beyond. We went through many growing pains to become the mainstay we are at this location. At this point, we’ve already begun the discussions for a new area close to the current one and are excited about providing our friends and family a new location that we can all feel proud to call home.”

PRESS RELEASE

“It is with the utmost sense of sadness and regret that Bad Boy’z Pizza and Pub’s Davenport location officially announces they will be shutting their doors at the 5266 Utica Ridge Road location on Sunday August 30th, 2020.

Bad Boy’z on Utica Ridge is a family-owned establishment that has been in business for well over seven years in the heart of the Quad Cities, serving patrons from all over their mouth-watering pizza, calzones and more – as well as an impressive selection of beers on tap. Owner Scott Hancock and his daughters, Erica McKenzie and Amber Hancock, would like to take this time to inform their past and present staff members, their loyal patrons and supportive community members of this unfortunate situation at their Davenport location.

With the expiration of their current lease on the Utica Ridge property at the end of August, Bad Boy’z invites all community members to patronize their downtown Moline location at 313 16th Street, which will keep their doors open. All gift cards previously purchased are redeemable at each location. Staff members will all be extended employment opportunities at the number of establishments owned by Mr. Hancock. Ms. McKenzie has reached out to all individuals who have previously scheduled party-room reservations.

Relocating operations for the Davenport location is the immediate objective at this time.  It is in the interest of all parties to continue the success of this well-established location in a nearby site. Local real estate recommendations can be directed to Erica McKenzie at ericamckenzie276@yahoo.com.”
