Rock Island Libraries Offer Family-Friendly Holiday Fun
Looking for something to do with the kids on holiday break? The Rock Island Libraries are offering a number of options for the little ones and their caregivers.
Rock Island Libraries are celebrating family time this December with the following upcoming events:
Children’s Librarians will be offering “holly jolly” stories this week, with stories, songs and a craft featuring Santa Claus. The Toddler Time storytimes are offered at 10:30 am Wednesday, Dec. 21 at the Rock Island Southwest Branch, 9010 Ridgewood Road; and Friday, Dec. 23 at the Rock Island Main Library, 401 19th Street. The free storytimes for children ages birth to five and their caregivers each feature stories, songs, and an activity.
Families who’d like to get out of the house in the week after Christmas can take advantage of a free movie and snacks at the Main Library on Wednesday, Dec. 28. The Main Library will screen a free, PG- rated movie from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Community Room of the Main Library, 401 19th Street. The animated March 2016 film features an underappreciated rookie bunny cop, and a cynical con artist fox who find themselves reluctantly working together to uncover a conspiracy of missing animals.
