Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos Visiting Moline And Galesburg Today
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) will continue her final Heartland Tour, visiting Moline and Galesburg today to hold two Cheri on Shifts.
Each year during the August District Work Period, Congresswoman Bustos travels across Northwest and Central Illinois to visit every corner of Illinois’ 17th Congressional District. During this year’s tour, Bustos will make stops in Rockford, Freeport, Morrison, Moline, Galesburg and Peoria.
During her Cheri on Shifts today, Congresswoman Bustos will be an Airfield Inspector at the Quad Cities International Airport and help replace a lead service line in Galesburg to improve drinking water safety for local residents. Since she was first elected to Congress, Bustos has traveled across Northwest and Central Illinois on 117 “Cheri on Shift” job shadowing stops. During these visits, she walks in the shoes of local workers to learn more about the jobs sustaining communities across our region. She’s learned how to drive a forklift, spot weld on cars and process carp from the Mississippi River – but most importantly, these visits help her bring the voices of her constituents with her to Washington.
