Better Health Foundation Opens Spring Innovation Grant Cycle

Davenport, IA (February 16, 2024) – The spring grant cycle deadline for nonprofit organizations in the greater
Quad Cities region seeking funding from the Better Health Foundation (BHF) is open.
Applicants have until Friday, March 1, 2024 to submit a completed online Letter of Inquiry (LOI) for
consideration of an Innovation Grant.
The Better Health Foundation Innovation grants are intended to help nonprofit organizations think differently
and experiment with novel solutions to tackle our region's most challenging public health issues.
Innovation at all stages of development will be considered and might include: the creation of a new service or
program, a new way of delivering services, a combination of "old ideas" to solve a current issue, or bringing
services to a new group of people, especially those in under-resourced communities.
Award criteria and instructions on how to apply for a grant can be found at
www.thebetterhealthfoundation.org.
The Better Health Foundation plans to award Innovation grants in the range of $100,000 – $200,000 for
programs and services aligned with the private foundation’s inaugural funding priorities: mental and
behavioral health, risk reduction of obesity and diabetes, and maternal and child health.
Better Health Foundation is accepting requests from qualified 501(c)3 organizations in Cedar, Clinton, Louisa,
Muscatine and Scott counties in Iowa, and Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and Whiteside counties in Illinois.
To receive more information about applying for a grant, contact Elaine Schilling,
eschilling@thebetterhealthfoundation.org, or call the Better Health Foundation at 563-383-6065.
