A Look Back On Week Two and Predictions For A Wild Week Three in Fantasy Football

wayne picQuick Hits from each game last week, while looking at what they might mean for week three:

New York Jets 37  Buffalo 36

  • Rex Ryan will not make it to the Bye week, which 10.  They will lose next week to Arizona and then lose to the 3rd string QB from New England, and then get fired.
  • Watch the IR and Q lists if you own Jets WR Brandon Marshall, he could be done for the year.

Cincinnati 16  Pittsburgh 24

  • If you have a Bengal RB you were hurting as Jeremy Hill lead the team with 22 yards
  • The Old Man,  Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams, continues to make us not miss suspended RB Le’Veon Bell.  Williams had 94 rushing yard, and a receiving TD
  • Steelers TE Jesse James continues to impress, put him on your watch list

Tennessee Titans  16  Detroit Lions 15

  • Titans TE Delanie Walker continues to be a viable pickup, 86 yards and a TD
  • Lions WR is emerging as THE No 1 WR, with 118 rec
  • The Lions RBs did not do a whole lot.
  • Demarco Murray had 145 all-purpose yards, I am glad he is on my team!
  • Andre Johnson had a late TD, but don’t dare pick him up!

Baltimore Ravens 25  Cleveland Browns 20

  • I picked up Baltimore as my DEF, this week.  BIG Mistake!
  • The Browns will start their 3rd QB of the season this week.
  • Just stay away from Cleveland Browns players in fantasy, even TE Gary Barnidge.
  • Ravens WR Mike Wallace with 2 TDS
  • Ravens TE Dennis Pitta had 109 yards receiving, pick him up and drop some chump on your bench

Dallas Cowboys 27  Washington Redskins 23

  • Cowboys WR Dez Bryant woke up with 102 yds.
  • Cowboys  QB Dak Prescott continues to look steady, keep an eye on him come bye weeks
  • With Redskins QB playing so poorly usual fantasy studs like WR Desean Jackson and  TE Jordan Reed  are killing fantasy owners who start them

New Orleans Saints 10  New York Giants 13

  • Both “hall of fame to be” QBs had pedestrian games, Giants QB Eli Manning 368 passing yards, Saints QB 1TD and 263 yards in the air.
  • Both can still start for owners.
  • Giants WR Victor Cruz looked good once again this past week, pick him up for your bench if room
  • Besides Brees, it hard to find sure fire fantasy option to gain you points each week, RB Mark Ingram 30 yards on 9 carries, WR Brandin
  • Cooks is hot and cold, someone else needs to step or the Saints are going to have a really, really bad year.

San Francisco 49ers 27  Carolina Panthers  46

  • Panthers RB Johnathan Stewart is hurt, so grab Fozzy Whitaker who ran for 100 yards and a score.
  • The owners of QB Cam Newton killed their opponent , he passes for 383 yards and 4 TDs, and he is back!
  • 49ers TE Vance McDonald had 75 yards  receiving, with 1 TD
  • Not a lot to say about 49ers scoring you fantasy points, you might want to schedule chase and see who they are playing and then select that teams DEF.

Miami Dolphins 24 New England Patriots 31

  • Patriots RB will see a ton of carries if with or without QB Garopolo, so be sure to start him.
  • Patriots head Bill Bellichik has said that Garopolo is Questionable.  “Ok, Bill.”  Don’t start him if you got him!
  • The Dolphins looked awful until Garopolo went out.
  • Dolphins QB Tannehill was forced to throw 45 times completing 32 for 2 TDs and 2 Nits, the backfield is once again crowded.  Proceed with caution when dealing with the fish!

Kansas City Chiefs 12   Houston Texans 19

  • The real Alex Smith for the Chiefs is back throwing for 186 yards and ZERO TDs.
  • Texans WR Will Fuller has convinced me to pick him up with 104 receiving yards.
  • Texans Defensive stud, JJ Watt  is back, so if you are in a league that uses “D” players, grab him.
  • KC’s backfield is getting crowded, hard to choose a back  when  they used 4 during this game.

Seattle Seahawks 3  Los Angeles Rams 9

  • How bad are the Seahawks if they lost to the Rams?  The Rams got shut out week 1 by an awful 49ers team.
  • This game was terrible and both offenses looked putrid.
  • Bench Rams RB Todd Gurley,  WR Tavon Austin until they show you something.
  • Bench Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin.
  • I hope owners of Seahawks Russell Wilson have a good backup.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7 Arizona Cardinals 40

  • The Cards offense is awake,  grab’em and start’em at will!
  • Bucs QB Jameis Winston is still worthy of starting!

Jacksonville Jaguars   San Diego Chargers

  • Chargers QB Phillip Rivers went off with 220 yds.’ and 4 TDs!  Greatest number 2 fantasy backup QB, or fill in for Tom Brady.
  • Start Chargers RB Melvin 1 TD, over 100 yards
  • Jags QB Blake Bortles was the leading rusher with 34 yards, think twice about starting TJ Yeldon
  • Bortles threw 2 TDS, 2 Ints, 329 passing yds, 2 sacks, 1 fumble lost, he is a mess, bench him!

Atlanta Falcons 35  Oakland Raiders  28

  • Points everywhere on both sides of this game
  • The Raider QB Derek Carr will keep Oakland in every game this season
  • For both of these teams they have a great QB, great RBs, and superstar WRs

Indianapolis Colts 20  Denver Broncos 34

  • Denver’s DEF is Super Bowl worthy!
  • Colts offensive weapons were shut down last week, but WR T.Y. Hilton and QB Andrew Luck are still worth starting

Green Bay Packers 14   Minnesota Vikings  17

  • Aaron Rodgers should still start in Fantasy, but he looked bad
  • Vikings WR Stefon Diggs is for real!  I already had him on my roster.
  • Not sold on Bradford just yet, a bye week pickup is his current worth.

Philadelphia Eagles 29  Chicago Bears 14

  • Bears QB is awful and now hurt, DO NOT pick up Bryan Hoyer
  • Owners of Bear WRs Alshon Jeffrey and Kevin White, you have a long season ahead of you
  • The Eagles might be 2-0, but I would not pick any player from this team as they have played no one (the Bears and the Browns)!

Tid Bit

  • Buffalo Bills RB Reggie Bush has one rushing attempt for -4 yards for the season
