The City of East Moline, Illinois is home to 20,333 and is located along the Mississippi River, of course, in the southeast quadrant of the Quad Cities.
East Moline grew very slowly in its initial years. It was only from 1900, when Deere & Company built a large factory called Union Malleable Iron Company, that things started taking off.
The factory employed hundreds of people and subsequent years saw the entry of manufacturers of many other products.
The area prospered economically and its population grew rapidly. It was incorporated as a village in 1903.

East Moline is a popular recreation destination.
The city has more than a dozen parks, all of which offer excellent amenities for young and old alike.
You’ll find people playing a variety of sports on the fields and courts. Some of them also have dedicated picnic areas with grills and other facilities. The city has a walking trail running alongside the river.
Boating facilities are also available.
