Friendship Manor Partners With Rock Island Community Foundation
Friendship Manor has partnered with the Rock Island Community Foundation to be their FIRST nonprofit entity to establish an Agency Endowment Fund with the Foundation. This Endowment Fund will help support Friendship Manor’s charitable care mission, enabling the Manor to continue its hallmark virtue of never asking a resident to leave, simply because they’ve outlived their resources. Friendship Manor has an 80+ year history of serving seniors in Rock Island and from surrounding communities. Many people don’t know that Friendship Manor is a nonprofit organization providing over $1,000,000 of benevolent care to seniors each and every year. They couldn’t do so without the greater community “Sharing in the Care.”
The Rock Island Community Foundation was established in 1967, due to the foresight and generosity of eight community, business leaders. Through the years, the Foundation has made grants totaling more than $2.6 million to over 218 worthy, nonprofit organizations that serve the citizens of Rock Island. Together this is a win-win partnership for two long-serving Rock Island nonprofit organizations!
