Doris And Victor Day Foundation Board Awarding Over $800,000 To Illinois Charities

The Doris & Victor Day Foundation Board awards $800,500 to 44 charitable
organizations through its annual grants program. These organizations will, in turn, significantly
impact the Quad Cities, enhancing the lives of its residents and contributing to its development.
The contributions, a testament to the foundation’s long-term commitment, stemmed from
a significant 10-million-dollar gift from the Doris Day Estate in 1987. This generous gift was
intended to make the Quad Cities a “better place.” “The Board had many difficult decisions to
make with the grant docket this year,” said Tyla Sherwin-Cole, The Doris & Victor Day
Foundation Executive Director. “In response to the unprecedented demand for funding, The
Foundation took a broad approach to our grantmaking to fund larger amounts to fund as many
nonprofits as possible with the limited funds available. We understand our critical role in
providing general operating grants that are important to the organizations delivering the effective
and impactful programs and services that contribute so much to the Quad Cities.”
Visit the Doris & Victor Day Foundation website for a list of the grant recipients and more
information.
