Illinois Congressman Sorensen Statement on Shooting of Two Police Officers in Macomb
On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, Congressman Eric Sorensen released the following statement on the shooting of two police officers in Macomb, Illinois:
“I am continuing to monitor the shooting of two police officers in Macomb, Illinois tonight,” said Sorensen. “While we receive updates about what happened, I am keeping the two officers, their families, friends, the Macomb Police Department, and the entire community in my heart. Violence against our law enforcement officers is absolutely unacceptable. I ask everyone to pray for their swift recovery.”
Congressman Eric Sorensen serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. Prior to serving in Congress, Sorensen was a local meteorologist in Rockford and the Quad Cities for nearly 20 years.
