Illinois Congressman Eric Sorensen Accepts Illinois Farm Bureau Endorsement
Today, Congressman Eric Sorensen, running for reelection in Illinois’ 17th Congressional District, joined Rock Island County farmers to accept an official endorsement from the Illinois Farm Bureau’s political action committee, ACTIVATOR.
“For over 20 years as a meteorologist, I worked to protect family farmers from dangerous storms—now, I’m fighting to protect their livelihoods in Congress,” said Sorensen. “I’m honored to have the Illinois Farm Bureau’s recognition and will stand up for every hardworking person in agriculture in the 119th Congress.”
“Today we are here to recognize Congressman Eric Sorensen for his work in congress and specifically the work he has done on behalf of Illinois farmers,” said Rock Island County Farm Bureau Secretary, Dennis VanDael, during the event. “Congressman Sorensen has been accessible to the farmers within the 17th district. And because of his hard work and accessibility to constituents, Illinois Farm Bureau ACTIVATOR is happy to endorse Eric Sorensen for reelection and call him a friend of agriculture.”
Sorensen accepted the endorsement alongside Rock Island County farmer Jill Craver from Taylor Ridge, as well as Illinois Farm Bureau leaders. This endorsement recognizes Sorensen’s bipartisan work on the House Agriculture Committee to pass a Farm Bill that supports Illinois farmers, and marks a major development in the competitive 17th District race.
Sorensen also toured the Craver’s farm to discuss the local producers’ needs and challenges and highlight his work to make family farming resilient in Congress.
