Daytner Appointed Interim COEHS Dean At Western Illinois University
MACOMB/Moline, IL — Katrina Daytner, associate dean of the Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services (COEHS), been appointed interim dean of the college, effective June 1. COEHS Dean Francis Godwyll, who has served as dean since July 2020, has been named the education dean at Illinois State University.
Daytner previously served as interim dean of the college from 2018-2020, and has been the associate dean since July 2015, after serving as the interim associate dean for one year.
She joined Western’s faculty in 2001 as an assistant professor in the educational and interdisciplinary studies department. She was promoted to full professor in 2014. From 2006 until 2014, Daytner also served as the faculty associate for Western’s First Year Experience (FYE) program. Prior to coming to Western, Daytner was a project coordinator and an instructor (1999-2001) at Ball State University, an adjunct instructor (1997-98) at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and an associate instructor (1994-96) at Indiana University.

Her leadership experience and tenure at WIU will ensure a seamless transition,” said WIU Interim Provost Billy Clow. “I’d also like to thank Dr. Godwyll for his service and charting a new course for the future of College of Education and Human Services at WIU.”
Daytner earned her Ph.D. in educational psychology at Indiana University (2003), her master’s degree in developmental psychology at Illinois State University (1995) and her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse (1992).
A national search will begin this summer.
