BREAKING: Mr. Thanksgiving Event Will Live On In New Moline Venue

Moline, IL – [November 4, 2024] – The cherished tradition of Mr. Thanksgiving’s Thanksgiving Dinner is set to continue with its 53rd annual event, inviting the community to ensure that no one spends the holiday alone. This year, the meal will be served on Thanksgiving Day from 4 to 7 PM at Mercado on Fifth, located at 423 12th Street, Moline, IL. This space will serve the community, allowing the Mr. Thanksgiving meal to thrive.
When the idea was presented, Mercado on Fifth Executive Director, Frances Williams, eagerly shared her excitement: “I am thrilled to be a part of such an impactful community event. This is exactly what this space was built for! We would be honored to bring the Mr. Thanksgiving Dinner to Mercado on Fifth.”

Mr. Thanksgiving, a cornerstone of the community, expressed his excitement for this year’s event: “I am thrilled to see our community come together to support one another. It’s heartwarming to know that we will continue providing meals and companionship to those in need. This holiday should be a time of joy, and with the help of our friends and volunteers, we can make that happen!”
Thanks to the generous support of R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, this year’s event will be able to purchase the food necessary to serve a delicious array of traditional holiday favorites, ensuring a festive meal for all attendees. The credit union has committed to making a significant donation to help cover food costs, demonstrating their commitment to community welfare.

In addition, R.I.A. Federal Credit Union has opened all seven of its Quad City branch locations as donation drop-off points for cash contributions. This initiative makes it easier for community members to contribute and support the event, further enhancing the spirit of giving.
