Red, White & BOOM Will Explode Throughout the Quad Cities!

The 4th of July is right around the corner. This means cook-outs, parades, concerts and FIREWORKS!

The Quad Cities’ largest 4th of July celebration, Red White and Boom, is happening on Wednesday Jul 3 from 5-10 p.m. This bi-state event will have activities and entertainment on both sides of the river!

Whether you choose to celebrate in Iowa or Illinois, there will be no shortage of fun and enjoyment.Red, White & BOOM Will Explode Throughout the Quad Cities!

 

Modern Woodmen Park (209 S Gaines St. Davenport) offers a flurry of activities inside the ball park! Including: bounce houses (1st Baseline Party Plaza), kids activities, live music, an Oath of Enlistment ceremony and a ton of entertainment. Stick around after the fireworks for some great music and some fun while let the traffic die down!

  • As part of their regular Wednesday night hours, Freight House Farmer’s Market in Davenport will be open starting at 4 p.m.

5:00p.m. –  Gates Open at Modern Woodmen Park with kids activities and music

6:00p.m. –  Rude Punch will kick off the night

6:30p.m. –  Mayoral address, Proclamation, a brief history of 1st Army

7:45p.m. –  The 34th Army band, 42 Romeo

9:30 p.m. –  Fireworks over the Mississippi River synced to music via 97X FM Radio

  • Immediately following the fireworks, Rude Punch will close out the night

 

The Schwiebert Riverfront Park (101 17th St. Rock Island) Boat Docks will be open for boaters to enjoy during this year’s 2018 Red White and Boom event held in Downtown Rock Island on Tuesday, July 3rd. The docks, with 23 slips, will be available on a first come-first serve basis. For more info visit : https://rigov.org/

5:00 p.m. –  Schwiebert Riverfront Park opens with inflatables ($5 wrist band), children’s activities, and food vendors. Bent River Brewing Company – Beer Garden opens on the Great Lawn

5:00 p.m. –  Proclamation and Military Tribute

5:15 p.m. –  Country Couch Potatoes open up on the Ellis Kell Stage

6:30 p.m. –  Performance by Metropolitan Youth Program Drill Team of Rock Island

7:00 p.m. –  Past Curfew: an 80’S tribute

9:30 p.m. –  Fireworks over the Mississippi River synced to music via 97X FM Radio

 

The Rock Island Arsenal invites the Quad Cities to come on post and join together on the lawn of Historic Quarters One for a fun Independence Day celebration capped off with a great fireworks display over the Mississippi River.  There will be a kid’s activities zone which will include various bouncy house attractions and games and activities.  Take a stroll through and see all the cool rides at the car cruise in or just set up your blanket and chairs in the shade and enjoy some tasty food and beverage that will be available for purchase.

5-7 p.m. –  WLLR, 103.7 FM’s own Pat Leuck doing a live broadcast

9:30 p.m. –  Fireworks over the Mississippi River synced to music via 97X FM Radio

This event is open to the public and you’ll simply need to show a valid, state issued ID for everyone in the car 16 and older at the gate.  Access to and egress from the Island will be available through both the Rock Island and Moline gates but please consider using the Moline gate as it will present the easiest access to the event site.  Directional signage will get you to the event parking areas.  Please remember that you’ll be entering a Federal installation and our policies prohibit firearms, pets and glass bottles.  Call 309-782-5890 for more info.

 

All locations (including Bechtel Park in Davenport, the Freight House Farmers Market parking lot and pretty much anywhere along the river) will provide prime viewing areas for the fireworks shot from two barges in the middle of the Mississippi River at 9:30 p.m. Don’t forget to tune into 97X (96.9 FM) to hear the official Red, White & Boom soundtrack to the fireworks!

The Skybridge will glow in patriotic colors and provide one of the best views on the entire riverfront from high above! The Skybridge is also air conditioned, so if it turns out to be a hot day, you know where to go.
