Iowa Democratic Black Caucus Holding Candidates Event In Davenport
The Iowa Democratic Black Caucus and Scott County Democrats will host an event for candidates and constituents on Sunday, May 1 at Davenport’s River Music Experience from 2-4 p.m.
River Music Experience is located at 129 N. Main, Davenport. Appetizers and beverages will be available.
Deidre DeJear, Democratic candidate for governor, will headline the event.
“Radical Right efforts to deny our Freedom to Vote make this election more important than any other,” Scott County Democratic Chair Matt Trimble says. “It will be a chance for voters to meet the candidates and elected officials who are on the front lines of the fight for that hard-won freedom, and for every Iowa family.”
Attendees will include state representative Phyllis Thede; state senator Cindy Winckler; state senate candidate Dr. Mary Kathleen Figaro; state representative Monica Kurth; Scott County Board candidate Jazmin Newton; and, state legislature candidates Ken Croken and Craig Cooper.
The mission of the Iowa Democratic Black Caucus is to educate, inspire and motivate Black communities to exercise their rights to engage in local, state and national political processes.
