Bettendorf Parks and Recreation Department Celebrating Big Wins This Week
Bettendorf, IOWA – Four Awards. One Mission: To support and strengthen the City of Bettendorf’s Parks
and Recreation Department.
On Wednesday, March 29, 2023 – a City Employee, a Volunteer Group, a Service Group, and The Tangled Wood were all
being honored at the Iowa Parks and Recreation Association Conference at the RiverCenter, 136 E. 3rd Street, Davenport.
Here are the 2023 Recipients with ties to the Bettendorf Parks and Recreation Department:
Award: Administrative Assistant
Recipient: Kimberly Radcliff
Kim Radcliff has worked for the City of Bettendorf for 23 years providing excellent administrative services so the Parks
and Recreation Department can provide top quality programs, special events, and superior customer service.
“Kim exhibits a passion and enthusiasm for the profession, displays leadership in providing quality programs and
services, and has exceptional customer service and communications skills,” said Kim Kidwell, Culture and Recreation
Director for the City of Bettendorf.
Award: Volunteer Group
Recipient: Bettendorf Parks Ambassadors
The Parks Ambassadors are a group of volunteers who commit to helping keep the City’s parks safe and clean. They
volunteer their time to monitor parks in the evenings, an added resource to the Bettendorf Parks and Recreation
Department and the Bettendorf Police Department.
Award: Service Club
Recipient: Friends of Bettendorf Parks Foundation
The Friends of the Bettendorf Parks Foundation is being recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Bettendorf
Parks & Recreation Department by helping provide funding to children in our community so they can participate in our
recreation programs. The ‘Friends’ hold several fundraising events throughout the year including the Jamie Hill Golf
Tournament, Senior Golf Cart Tours, and new this year: Cars and Coffee – a monthly event that begins this Saturday,
April 1 at The Tangled Wood. Thanks to their efforts, $16,000 in fundraising dollars provides assistance to more than 65
children a year.
Award: Business Support
Recipient: The Tangled Wood
This award recognizes a private organization that has contributed to the Bettendorf Parks and Recreation Department
and enhanced the quality of life within our community. The Tangled Wood is a restaurant that holds an annual Parks
and Recreation Day where customers have the opportunity to learn about programs, bike safety, trails, the Crow Creek
Dog Park, Palmer Hills Golf Course, and seasonal employment opportunities. The Tangled Wood also supports programs
through donations to the scholarship program.
