Western Illinois University President Huang “Gets Cooking” In New Virtual Show
MACOMB/Moline, IL – When Western Illinois University President Guiyou Huang isn’t taking care of business as WIU’s 12th president, you may likely find him doing what he enjoys outside of work … cooking for family and friends, among other hobbies.
“Cooking, like many other things worth doing, requires resources and preparation and involves lots of creativity and even innovation, something that is much expected of the higher ed industry,” Huang said.
WIU faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends are invited to join Huang in a virtual cooking show from 4-5 p.m. Saturday, May 22 as he prepares a traditional Chinese dinner step-by-step. Recipes for the items being made will be sent in advance to those who register so they can cook along if they choose. The May 22 event will be held via Zoom (pre-registration available at bit.ly/CookingWithWIUPresident) and will also be livestreamed on the WIU Alumni Association’s Facebook page and on WIU’s YouTube Channel.
Participants joining via Zoom will have the opportunity to interact directly with President Huang and other participants. For more information, email A-Association@wiu.edu or call (309) 298-1914.
