Western Illinois University Partners with Business to Provide Face Coverings for Fall Semester

MACOMB, IL – In the spirit of a community working together, one Macomb business is producing 1,000 cloth face coverings to be distributed across the Western Illinois University campus as the University prepares to open for the Fall 2020 semester.

Western Illinois University Partners with Business to Provide Face Coverings for Fall SemesterWIU is doing business with Jeff Clayberg, owner of the Attic II, on West Jackson Street in Macomb, to produce the face coverings.

“We are lucky to have Jeff and his team at the Attic II so close to the University during such unprecedented times,” said Joe Roselieb, executive director of Auxiliary Services and Risk Management at WIU. “Any time an opportunity presents itself to the University, where we can partner with an individual or business in town, we want to be able to do so. I’ve been very fortunate to know Jeff for many years now and know that the Attic II will produce a quality product that will assist us as we prepare for the fall semester.”

The Fall 2020 semester begins Monday, Aug. 24 and will include a mixture of in-person and virtual instruction to provide for social distancing and enhanced cleaning procedures.

Clayberg said he and his employees appreciate WIU trusting the business to help with the efforts to reopen the campus in August.

“Their support is truly what makes Macomb a great place to be a business owner,” he said.
