Western Illinois University Housing Staff Recognized at GLACUHO
Western Illinois University Housing and Dining Services (UHDS) staff brought home top awards and recognition from the recent Great Lakes Association of College & University Housing Officers (GLACUHO) conference.
John Moore, graduate advisor for leadership programs in the Office of Student Engagement and a College Student Personnel graduate student, received the Outstanding Graduate Practitioner Award for the state of Illinois. The award is presented to a full-time graduate student who has greatly contributed to the institution at which they work.
Brooke McDaniel, complex director for Lincoln, Washington and Grote halls, won the first-time delegate scholarship. This scholarship is presented to a first-time attendee of the conference who demonstrates GLACUHO’s values of service, visionary leadership and inclusivity.
“We are extremely proud of John and Brooke and the work that they do for WIU,” said Jessica Butcher, director for Student Life at WIU. “Staff like John and Brooke provide thoughtful insight and make meaningful change for UHDS. They role model not only leadership on campus but across the region. They are true examples of what it means to be a Leatherneck.”
