Western Illinois University COVID-19 Moderna Vaccination Clinic #2 April 29

Western Illinois University students, faculty and staff on the Macomb campus who received their first Moderna vaccine on April 1 will receive their second Moderna dose at a clinic in the WIU Campus Recreation Center (enter through the MAC Gym, south entrance) on the WIU-Western Illinois University COVID-19 Moderna Vaccination Clinic #2 April 29Macomb Thursday, April 29.

The appointment times for the April 29 second-dose Moderna clinic will be the same time as an individual’s first dose was given at the April 1 clinic. For example, if your appointment time was 8:30 a.m. April 1, your appointment time for your second dose will be 8:30 a.m. April 29.

NOTE: For those individuals who received Moderna dose #1 on April 14 or April 15 at WIU, the walk-in clinic will be held on the WIU-Macomb campus (Campus Recreation) May 10.

WIU encourages members of the University community to take advantage of the free vaccination clinic. Getting vaccinated will assist in the county’s efforts to meet the criteria needed to enter the State’s Bridge Phase. In addition, individuals who are fully vaccinated are omitted from having to quarantine in the event they are in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive individual. It has also been found that if a vaccinated individual does become infected with the COVID-19 virus, that their symptoms are less invasive than those who are not vaccinated.

Supervisors are authorized to approve up to 60 minutes of release time from work for an employee to receive the vaccine. Proof of vaccination/appointment, presented to the supervisor, will be required to utilize the release time. Time off needed beyond 60 minutes should be reported as sick or vacation leave.
