MACOMB, Moline, IL – Virtual commencement ceremonies, recognizing the academic and personal accomplishments of Western Illinois University students, can be viewed on WIU’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
The number of students eligible for Fall 2020 Commencement is 797, which included 609 undergraduate students, of which 59 are in the Bachelor of Arts in General Studies degree program; 188 master’s degrees were conferred, which includes 10 doctoral degrees; eight earning their doctoral degrees in educational leadership (Ed.D.): Lacey Anderson, of Seatonville, IL; Brandi Anderson-Maier, of Peru, IL; *Jonathan E. Devereueawax, of Dixon, IL *(completed Summer 2020); Marcie G. Faust, of Highland Park, IL; Michaela Joy Fray, of Quincy, IL; Margaret A. Lesniak, of Tinley Park, IL; John P. Price, of Chicago, IL; Michael J. Ruff, of Taylor Ridge, IL; and Anne M. Zahn, of Chicago, IL; and two students earning their Ph.D. in environmental science – large river ecosystems: Michele Marie Rehbein, of Helper, UT; and Anshu Singh, of Bettendorf, IA.
The video ceremony included remarks from alumni, remarks from deans and directors, and slides with each graduate’s name shown.
Graduating senior music major Mark A. Mixon, Jr., of Chicago performed the national anthem for the virtual commencement ceremony and graduating senior music education major Morgan Ann-Marie Miller, of Geneseo, IL, delivered “Purple, Gold, Our Colors Brave,” during the virtual Honors Convocation, which can be seen at wiu.edu/honors/virtual_convocation.
