Steel Magnolias In Bloom At Playcrafters
If you have ever been a fan of Robert Harling’s stage play “Steel Magnolias,” then here is your chance to see it again, or maybe for the first time, at Playcrafters Barn Theater. On Friday, January 20 through Sunday, January 22, Playcrafters will be performing their second weekend of this production. Playcrafters Barn Theater is located at 4950 35th Avenue, Moline, IL 61265. Steel Magnolias is a story based off Robert Harling’s experience with his sister’s death. The plot centers around six Louisiana women in a comedy-drama about family, love, and loss. The play also inspired a movie in 1989 which starred Sally Field, Dolly Parton, and Julia Roberts.
Playcrafters Barn Theater opened on October 5th, 1960 and is known as the oldest continuously operating community theater in the Midwest. Playcrafters has run as a non-profit theater who strives to provide a professional quality to live productions at accessible prices for the Quad City community.
