The Show WILL Go On At Rock Island’s Circa ’21!
The curtain isn’t closing at Rock Island’s Circa ’21 Dinner Theater, it’s only temporarily shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and, according to Brett Hitchcock, director of audience development, the show WILL go on!
“Circa ‘21 will absolutely be reopening!” Hitchcock said in an e-mail. “We have no plans to close for the remainder of the 2020 season. At this point we have no idea when we will reopen because, like every business in Illinois, we are waiting for the Governor to give us the ok to open. Sometime in the middle of June would be the earliest at this point.”
Regardless of when Circa ‘21 reopens it will be with the musical “Saturday Night Fever,” which was fully rehearsed at the time of the first stay-at-home order, Hitchcock said.
“Guests who had reservations for any of the shows or concerts are not losing their money. The theatre will contact those with tickets prior to opening. One of the fastest ways for us to contact you is by email. If you do not currently receive emails from us, you can sign up to receive them on our website circa21.com.
“We know there will be restrictions on the number of guests we will be able to seat. We anticipate the revised seating capacity to be 50% or less. As a result, it will not be possible for everyone to be moved to the same seating they reserved.
“Since the theater is closed there is no income. Those wishing to help can purchase a gift certificate through the theatres website circa21.com. Any purchases would be greatly appreciated!
“Circa ‘21 appreciates the outpouring of support during this difficult time and REALLY looks forward to entertaining you all again very soon. The show will go on!”
