Take A Trek Down ‘Ocean Avenue’ With This Week’s Video You Deserve
Mondays can be rough.
And so, every Monday, we give you a music video. A fun, funny music video. Something that’ll make you smile, make you laugh, make you reminisce, and make you realize that back in the day, music video creators were probably either insane or heavily intoxicated. But were also incredibly entertaining.
We call this feature, The Video You Deserve, and you can find it every Monday on your site for fun, free entertainment and features, QuadCities.com.
Our latest video is pretty much a one-hit wonder from a band which came to prominence in that wonderful time in the early 2000s, when emo and punk pop and alt rock seemed to really dominate the pop cultural landscape, when everyone watched “The OC,” and things just seemed much, much… better, to be brutally honest.
And this song pretty much encapsulates that feeling.
It’s just got an incredible feeling of hope, and sunniness, and, well, anything that’s the opposite of the desolate hellscape of constant covid crap and uncertainty we’re in right now.
And that’s why I’ve been listening to it a lot lately, on repeat, because it makes life a little more tolerable when every day I’ve got to write yet another story about covid and the never-ending “Groundhog Day” of mitigations and life in the pandemic.
But anyway, enough of my yappin’, here’s the Video You Deserve this week, one which I hope cheers you as much as it cheers me, “Ocean Avenue,” by Yellowcard…
