NEW BOATER SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Starting in 2022, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources requires that all individuals who rent watercraft at Loud Thunder complete a free online boater safety course before heading out on the water. There are two ways to complete the training:

1. Save some time and visit RentalBoatSafety.com before you get here and complete the free training course online.

2. Take the free boating safety training at Loud Thunder on one of our provided, preloaded tablets.

Questions? Give us a call at (309) 795-1040 or visit the park office. Remember, boat rentals are first-come, first-served! A minimum of a one-hour rental is required for all boats. Life jackets are provided for all users, adults, and children.

We can’t wait to see you at your next visit to Loud Thunder Forest Preserve!
