Snowstar Officially Open for Winter Season
Record-high December temperatures had Quad Citizens swapping snow gear for shorts — and Snowstar staff pushing back their opening. Now that the cold has finally arrived, Snowstar is officially open for the 2021-2022 season.
“We’re running our snow guns nonstop to keep our tubing hill and terrain park covered for guests to enjoy,” said Doug Harper, co-owner along with his wife, Jen Harper. “Whether you’re 3 or 93, we’ve got something for everyone to do!”
Visitors looking for a little winter fun will notice a number of changes this year — starting with an improved online ordering system. Guests are encouraged to skip the line and book their Snowstar experience right from their phone or computer. Tubing hill reservations (available in 2-hour sessions), lift passes, season passes, eGift cards and special events tickets can all be purchased online by visiting https://bit.ly/3f4FKKp.
Additionally, prepaid tube and ski tickets can be picked up at the new outdoor ticket shed to help get visitors on the hills faster.
The Harper family is excited about the extensive renovations to the grounds and buildings this season. With guest safety in mind, they’ve installed new security cameras, signage and lighting throughout the park. The management team also expanded the warming hut by the tubing hill, added fire pits and included a new concession trailer with a full food menu plus snack and beverage options. The gift shop has also been remodeled and fully stocked with new swag.
Visitors who are 21+ can thaw out after a day on the slopes in one of Snowstar’s on-site bars, Peaks Tavern and Fireside Lounge, or stop by for the Sunday Funday Bloody Mary Bar from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. every Sunday through the winter season.
