Advanced Audition Technique -open to ages 14-25

Wednesdays, February 3-March 3

Auditioning is a talent all it’s own, and in this class you will work on honing and shaping that skill! This interactive and immersive class is created to ensure that you exit the course with properly prepared audition materials, as well as the confidence and focus to let your talents shine. Students will be asked to bring in an audition book with at least 2 prepared song choices, a brief monologue, and a headshot and resume. For the first four classes students will perform and receive feedback, including techniques and approaches on how to stay grounded and invested in the material. Each class will also conclude with learning a short dance combination. Our final class will be run as a mock audition for Circa ‘21 owner/producer, Denny Hitchcock. Students will present their prepared materials as well as learn and perform a brief dance combination, just as they would in a regular audition. This course is designed for students who already have some experience in theatre and are wanting to take their skills to the next level. This course is not appropriate for beginners.
