Rock Island's Circa '21 Announces Its 44th Season Of TheaterCirca ’21 is ready to get back to entertaining you, and the theater’s 44th season is filled with the laughs, the music, and the family moments we’ve all missed so much this crazy year!

In 2021, the Circa ’21 will offer six amazing mainstage shows — four have never been on the Circa ’21 stage, one is being revived from their 19th season, and one the theater’s been trying to produce since the shutdown in March! Plus, there will be three delightful children’s shows and numerous concerts, including the Bootlegger Show in August 2021! There is something special for everyone this year at Circa ’21!

During the 5 months we’ve been closed, many of our guests have contacted us to be sure we are OK and will be able to open again. It’s been very heartwarming, and we are all so thankful for their tremendous support. Everyone has been so kind and understanding as they call to renew their subscriptions and make reservations. We are all very happy to be welcoming everyone back with he charming comedy, Savannah Sipping Society. On behalf of our staff, I want to thank everyone for being so gracious and caring as we prepare to reopen,” said Owner/Producer Dennis Hitchcock.

Starting off the new season is a brand new holiday show WINTER WONDERLAND.

Playing from Nov. 11 – Dec. 30, this heartwarming new musical is about a dad’s wish to celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas which leads him and his family on a magical journey to another time where he learns that while remembering the past is important, the best way to hold on to tradition is to enjoy the Christmas present! Winter wonderland will feature many of your favorite holiday hits!

Welcome to Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’s newest production: The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous — and outrageously hilarious! With an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines), the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to the final curtain.  This is one of the funniest shows you will ever see and plays from Jan. 13 – March 13.

In the Spring, Circa ’21 is excited to be doing the area premiere of the newest show in the wildly popular Church Basement Ladies series THE CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES in YOU SMELL BARN!

Your beloved Church Basement Ladies are back! From the basement to the barn, your beloved Church Basement Ladies are back and getting busy with life outside the kitchen. With plenty of crazy antics, loads of fresh laughs and Rock Island's Circa '21 Announces Its 44th Season Of Theaterspanking new original songs, You Smell Barn celebrates rural life in the 1950s.  The ladies will be appearing March 17 – May 15.

Next the theater presents The 60’s musical that’s sealed with a kiss – BEEHIVE.

Playing from May 19 – July 10, Beehive is a fun, frothy flashback to the fabulous females of ’60s pop music! Beehive matches big voices with big hairdos, paying tribute to the ladies who unmistakably left their mark, such as Connie Francis, The Supremes, Annette Funicello, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin. Experience the music that thrilled a generation, including “One Fine Day”, “Downtown”, “It’s My Party”, “Respect”, “Natural Woman” and more!

Rock Island's Circa '21 Announces Its 44th Season Of TheaterPlaying July 14 – Sept. 11 Circa ’21 goes back to 2020 to finally produce the show that everyone was so excited about SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

A year and a half after it was originally scheduled, Circa ’21’s plan is stayin’ alive with this long-anticipated show! Based on the 1977 movie phenomenon that launched the disco era and made John Travolta a household name, Saturday Night Fever features songs from the Bee Gees – such as Stayin’ Alive, You Should Be Dancing, and How Deep Is Your Love.

Rounding out the 2021 season the theater is excited to present a sidesplitting adult parody will make you blush and feel nostalgia all at once with DISENCHANTED!

Rated PG15 and running Sept. 15 – Nov. 6 Poisoned apples, glass slippers … Who needs ’em?! Not Snow White and her posse of disenchanted princesses in the hilarious, naughty hit musical for grown-ups that’s anything but Grimm. These royal renegades tossed off their tiaras to set the record straight in this outrageous, not-for-the-kiddies musical. What you thought you knew about princesses will never be the same!
