Rock Island Public Library Opening For Limited Hours July 6
Good news: Rock Island Public Library buildings will open for Limited Hours and Building Access starting July 6! This follows news that the State is moving soon to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan.[News Release] The July 6 start date allows us time to implement revised procedures and to ensure safety protocols are in place.
In keeping with state health guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required for library entry. Curbside is still a great way to pick up your library materials. If you need assistance with choosing library materials or placing items on hold, we’re happy to help by phone, email, and chat!
As of July 6, services will be available on a grab-and-go basis. Some library services will be limited. Others, such as programs, will continue to be available online only.
The Mobile Library starts stay-in-your car Curbside and WiFi service as well on July 6. (Current Mobile WiFi schedule continues to July 2.)
To protect everyone’s safety and keep our reopening momentum moving forward, please keep your in-person visits short, and continue to wear a face covering while inside our buildings. Library staff are working on other reopening plans, so stay tuned for more details as we get closer to July 6!
