Christworm, Dakhma, National Hero and Archeress Wash Up On The Island
Are you a fan of hearing small or local bands play? Do you prefer heavy metal and punk to any other genre of music? You’ll probably want to check out The Island this week!
On Thursday, December 8 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., four bands will be performing at The Island, a Quad City Do It Yourself music venue. Those bands are Christworm, Dakhma, National Hero, and Archeress.
Christworm is a Louisiana originated “two-piece blackened sludge band that combines heavy metal with extreme misanthropy and self-loathing to create their own original sound.” If you were a fan of Primitive Man, then you will enjoy this band. The band consists of two members, George Caldwell and Travis Slayton, and has been established since 2012.

Dakhma is a black metal experimental band from Grand Rapids Michigan that was established in 2014. They consist of three members: Claire, who performs vocals, Derek, who performs guitar, and Dylan, who performs drums.
The band has released four albums, s/t (2014), Split (2015), Raze (2015), and Suna Kulto (2015).

National Hero is a Moline local Power Violence/Punk band that was established in 2015. They consist of two members, Alex, who does drums and vocals, and Josh, who does bass and vocals.
These two have released five albums: Demo, Split with XsaladcrusherX, Collaboration with Electricity, National Hero/Closet Witch (Split), and National Hero/A Light Among, all released in 2015.
Archeress is an Iowa band that consists of three members: Jason Quinton, who plays guitar and vocals, Courtney Jade, who plays Bass and Vocals, and Travis Scudder, who plays drums and jungle juice. They have three albums: Strawberry Moons, Pastel Houses, and 26, all released in 2016.
They are described as Q-C sad and have a mellow, but intense tone to their music.
