John Deere Classic Is Back And Teeing Off TODAY!
The John Deere Classic is back and teeing off today at Deere Run, 15623 Coaltown Road East, Moline.
Over the past 50 years, the John Deere Classic has seen an astounding amount of accomplishment. The tournament has been deemed “one of the most amazing success stories on the PGA TOUR” according to past PGA TOUR commissioner, Tim Finchem. What is so amazing about the John Deere Classic? Simply put, it has survived. Withstanding multiple changes in location and title sponsors, it is unlike other small-market events and has managed to thrive as a community-based, charity-oriented tournament. In fact, it consistently ranks as #1 on TOUR in per capita giving and was named “PGA TOUR – Tournament of the Year” in 2016.
The mission of the John Deere Classic, a non-for-profit corporation, is to conduct a PGA TOUR sanctioned professional golf tournament that will contribute positively to the quality of life in our community. The John Deere Classic also strives to provide growing annual financial contributions to charities in our area, as well as promote volunteerism. Through the golf tournament and various tournament programs, our main goal is to provide a positive economic impact to the community.
