Iowa’s Mockingbird On Main Holding Auditions For ‘Their Town’ Tomorrow

The Mockingbird On Main will hold auditions for Alexander Richardson’s Their Town on Saturday, June 25 at 11am at their venue located at 320 North Main Street in Downtown Davenport.

Their Town, previously presented with an earlier draft of the script at Playcrafters Barn Theatre, concerns a small town in a fly-over state whose residents experience life, love, and death in the new century.

Emily has no direction in her life. Mike is working at a failing company in a dying industry. Cierra’s ex-husband took the car and won’t give it back. Bernard can’t get the remote to work. Inspired by Thorton Wilder’s classic, ‘Our Town’, Their Town presents life, marriage, and death in a small midwestern town. A day and a night go by as people just try to get by in the new century.

Director and playwright Alexander Richardson and Producers Tristan Tapscott and Savanna Bay Strandin are seeking the following:

GEORGE – Male-identifying, 20’s

EMILY – Female-identifying, 20’s

MIKE – Male-identifying, 40-50’s

CIERRA – Female-identifying, 30-50’s (Hispanic or Latina actress preferred)

BERNARD – Male-identifying, 60-70’s

HE – Male-identifying, any age

SHE – Female-identifying, any age

Actors of all races and ethnicities are encouraged to audition and should be prepared to read from the script. Rehearsals will begin in August (date pending cast availability) and Their Town will be presented September 23, 24, 30 and October 1.
