Black Friday Record Store Day is back at Ragged Records, but this time with new guidelines. Line up outside to get your number at 8AM. From 9AM-11AM we’ll be calling numbers and letting five customers in at a time. Masks are required and hand sanitizer will be available. The rest of the store will not be available to browse until 11AM. We know how important Record Store Day is to our customers and we’re trying to do this as safe and responsible as possible. Winter Nights, Winter Lights Lights Up The Botanical Center
Winter Nights Winter Lights begins lighting up the Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Ave., Rock Island, this weekend!
From Nov. 19 to Jan. 10, every night from 4 to 9 p.m. the outdoor gardens will be in winter bloom with over 130,000 glowing lights. Showcasing our largest light display yet, new areas of our outdoor gardens will be lit, including the Children’s Garden.

Like the Night People?
Are you a fan of Quad-Cities classic band The Night People?
You’ll want to check out Rob Dahms and Gary Pearson of the band performing 7 to 10 p.m. at Bootleg Hill Honey Meads, 321 E. 3rd St., Davenport.
It’s a nice place, features wine made from honey, beer made from honey, and music from Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Famers from The Night People playing great music of the ’60s and ’70s. Have fun!

Valor & Victory Gardens: WWII in the Hawkeye State

WWII was a global conflict that forever altered society and touched the lives of people around the world, including right here in Iowa. The year 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII. With this exhibit we remember and commemorate that momentous occasion. Through local headlines, personal letters, and historic artifacts, we will tell the Quad Cities’ WWII story.
This exhibit is supported by the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities and was co-curated by GAHC Staff and Arthur Pitz, Ph.D.
The exhibit will be open from September 13 – January 17 and is included with general admission:

Festival of Trees Holiday Hustle 5k Walk/Run Hustling In

Rock River Hospice & Home is hosting a Festival of Trees Holiday Hustle Virtual 5K Walk/Run. The idea is to set your own goal of doing a 5K and do it at your own pace, completing your goal within a week. Walk around your house, the neighborhood, favorite park or on your treadmill, while maintaining social distancing and still have a meaningful walk to honor and remember your loved one(s).
With each ticket purchase, you will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt.* Tickets must be purchased by November 1 to receive t-shirt. Shirts will need to be picked up at the Rock River Hospice & Home office.
While on your walk, dress up in your festive Holiday attire to make it more fun and share your photos by tagging them on Facebook (@rockriverhospiceandhome) or Instagram (@rockriverhospice) and use the hashtag #FOTHOLIDAYHUSTLE. One submission will be chosen at random to receive a $25.00 gift card.
