German American Heritage Center Closing Due To Coronavirus

Davenport’s German American Heritage Center is closing its doors through at least the end of March, due to coronavirus concerns.

The museum sent the following release out today:

Dear friends,
The health and safety of our community and the German American Heritage Center volunteers, members, guests, and staff is our top priority. In the past weeks we have implemented sanitizing and cleaning procedures to keep our facilities a safe place to visit. But the time has come to temporarily close our doors to the public through Tuesday, March 31.
German American Heritage Center Closing Due To CoronavirusThis means we have postponed our Eiermarkt Spring Craft Fair and cancelled our felted egg workshop, basket weaving class, and free family weekend.
We undertake these efforts in hopes of slowing and reducing the impact of COVID-19. The recommendations and requirements for centers and museums like ours might change, so we may update or extend this plan at any time, including extending closure.
Our staff will periodically be on site during the closure and we are working to help share our museum online and create educational information and programs for you to utilize during this time.
While we are closed to the public, you can explore the GAHC through our website as well as on social media through Facebook and Instagram. We will continue to update you via our website, email, newsletters, and social media.
Please visit the CDC for more information on protecting yourself and your family during these difficult times.
Thank you for your continued support of the German American Heritage Center.
Sincerely,
Kelly Lao
